WELCOME TO THE
HOLIDAY HAMPER PROGRAM

Continuing a Tradition of Delivering Joy & Holiday Meals in Edmonton

Ready To Make A Difference & Bring Holiday Cheer to Edmonton Families?

For more than 20 years, the Holiday Hamper Program has brought our community together to help local families in need. Last year, our incredible volunteers and donors helped us provide food hampers to 2,200 families. This year, we need your help to do it again!

When you adopt a family, you provide a hamper filled with food and personally deliver it to their door. Together with local schools, we support children and families in need across our community, putting food on the table and making the holidays a little brighter, no matter how they celebrate.

How The Holiday Hamper Program Works

Step 1: Families Are Referred

We partner with Edmonton Public and Catholic Schools to reach children and families who need a little extra support over the holidays. School staff identify families experiencing food insecurity and invite them to join the Holiday Hamper Program, helping ensure support reaches those who need it most.

Step 2: You Sign Up to Give

When you register, you “adopt” a local family and commit to purchasing and delivering a food hamper based on our detailed grocery list.
At the beginning of December, you’ll receive your family’s details, dietary notes, and shopping guidelines to make giving simple and organized.

Step 3: You Shop with Heart

You'll purchase groceries from our approved grocery list to ensure every family receives a consistent, high-quality holiday meal.
We provide the turkey or fish, and roasting pan, to complete the hamper. All you need to do is follow the grocery list and shop with heart!

Step 4: You Deliver the Joy

On Saturday, December 19th, you’ll join us at the Edmonton Expo Centre for our quick, drive-thru-style pickup.

You’ll collect your turkey or fish, along with extra goodies from our local food partners to add to your hamper, then personally deliver it to your adopted family.

More Than 9,000 Lives Touched Last Holiday Season in Edmonton

Founded by JCI Edmonton in 2004, the Holiday Hamper Program has been bringing our community together for more than 20 years. Last year, with the incredible support of our volunteer Elves, we reached 9,000 Edmontonians, including 6,500 children, and provided holiday food hampers to 2,200 local families in need.

Together, we distributed 27,500 lbs of turkey, 5,500 lbs of fish and 60,000 lbs of fresh produce, putting wholesome food on thousands of tables across our city.

At the heart of our program is a simple belief: every family deserves wholesome food on the table over the holidays. When this time of year brings added pressures, a Holiday Hamper can make things a little easier, no matter how a family celebrates.

Want to be part of it this holiday season? Adopt a local family and help us continue providing food to children and families who need a little extra support. Every hamper makes a difference.

Our Families

"I have never been on the receiving end of help and have always been able to provide for my children. When your Elves arrived, the tears came rolling down and could no thank them enough."
