FOR FAMILIES IN NEED
1,200 FAMILIES ARE IN NEED THIS YEAR
We have heard from our schools, and they are estimating an increase of 1,200 families that will not have a holiday meal without your help.
Our utmost priority is keeping our Elves, volunteers, and families safe. As we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, all of our decisions are based on the guidelines provided by Alberta Health Services (AHS). Despite the challenges that we are all facing during this time, families in our community need our help now more than ever. Please know that it will look different from years past, BUT we are committed to providing a safe experience for everyone involved in our program.

Becoming a Hamper Elf is as easy as three simple steps.
1. SIGN UP
Sign up to adopt a family in need. Choose your family size based on how much you are able to contribute. A small family costs about $130 in groceries, while an extra-large family is usually over $250. We also ask that you provide a small gift for each child in the family, worth up to $20. Our grocery list can help you decide the size of family you will make a difference for this holiday season.
In the first week of December, you'll receive an email confirming the size and makeup of your assigned family. Please note that we cannot provide specific information such as names. Prior to Delivery Day, you will purchase groceries and gifts for your family's hamper based on our grocery list.
3. DELIVERY DAY
On Saturday, December 19, join Holiday Hamper volunteers and other Hamper Elves at the Edmonton Expo Centre (Hall TBD). Here you will receive the turkey, roasting pan, fresh produce, and address for your adopted families. Once those items have been added to your hamper, you will be on your way to hand-deliver holiday joy!
